LONDON – 10 June, 2011 – White Tiger Communications Ltd. today announced that it has been chosen as the public relations agency of record by leading professional services group farncombe following a competitive selection process. White Tiger Communications will support farncombe with PR advice and services focusing on the UK, France, Germany, Benelux and Scandinavia in order to raise its profile as a premier source of authoritative and independent counsel and services in the international digital TV and connected TV space.

Since its inception in 1991, farncombe has become widely recognised for providing highly informed and reliable advice on business and technology strategy to the TV industry. Its practice areas reflect its breadth of expertise and service capability in strategy, content security, engineering, system architecture design, user interface design, application development, certification and system testing.

The company has built up an impressive roster of clients which now ranges across the entire digital TV delivery eco-system and includes major pay-TV operators, content rights holders, telcos, and technology providers as well as government and regulatory bodies.

“The emergence of connected TV has helped us build on our extensive experience across the digital satellite, cable, terrestrial and IPTV sectors,” said Dr Stephen Upton, farncombe’s CEO. “We selected White Tiger because they have the expertise to help us explain to the media, our clients, and the industry how the advent of connected TV impacts all aspects of the TV value chain; and why farncombe is best placed to help broadcasters and operators face the challenges and make the most of the opportunities that connected TV enables.” He concluded: “White Tiger’s appointment represents a significant step in farncombe’s evolution as a key player in the provision of global TV services.”

White Tiger Communications Ltd was established in 2010 and is headed by Cynthia Ritchie, a marketing and communications professional who has spent over 20 years in the digital TV sector. Throughout most of the 1990s, she was a recognised journalist and commentator in the industry, having held senior editorial positions at many of the most respected industry publications including Cable and Satellite Europe magazine (now Digital TV Europe), Cable and Satellite Express, Inside Digital TV, Interspace, International Cable and Cable Business International.

Cynthia later successfully held numerous senior in-house sales, business development, marketing and corporate communications positions with blue-chip industry leaders including BT Broadcast Services, Lockheed Martin Intersputnik, Intelsat and NDS.

Also at the heart of the White Tiger team are Lindsey Lee and Rachel Postlethwaite, two well-respected public relations consultants with expertise in the global digital TV and telecom space gained through in-house and agency experience supporting clients including NDS, CANAL+ Technologies, Broadcom and Intel.

Thanks to the aggregated skills and experience of its team, and its deep understanding of the digital TV industry, White Tiger Communications delivers unique business-enhancing communications and marketing services.
